“How often should I come in?” is one of the questions our stylists hear most. The honest answer depends on your hair, your style and how much regrowth you are happy with, but these are the typical ranges we suggest at L.A. Hair Design.
| Service | Typical time between visits | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Short haircut | 4 to 6 weeks | Short shapes grow out quickly |
| Medium or long haircut | 8 to 12 weeks | Keeps ends healthy and the shape fresh |
| All-over colour or grey coverage | 4 to 6 weeks | Regrowth shows at the root |
| Foil highlights | 6 to 8 weeks | Lines of regrowth become visible |
| Balayage | 3 to 4 months | Soft, blended regrowth grows out gently |
| Toner | Between colour visits | Refreshes tone and cuts brassiness |
| Deep conditioning treatment | Every 4 to 6 weeks | Especially for lightened or treated hair |
| Wash and blow dry | Whenever you want to look polished | Events, photos or just a treat |
Signs it’s time to book
- Your style no longer sits the way it did when it was cut
- Your ends feel dry, rough or split
- You can see a clear line of regrowth at the root
- Your blonde has turned warm or brassy
Want fewer visits?
If you want colour that grows out more softly, ask about balayage: its hand-painted blend means no hard regrowth line, so touch-ups can be spaced further apart. For cuts, a longer, layered shape usually needs trimming less often than a short, precise one.
